Mood is like an inner forest
The happiness we feel runs deeper than our thoughts - it flows through our genes, our hormones, our very cells. But the world these systems evolved for is vanishing.
Perhaps this is why all our modern advances - in wealth, wisdom, and social connection - haven't moved the needle on human contentment.
We've changed our world faster than our biology can adapt.
